Job description
On-Board OTA Test Engineer
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Some positions may require a master’s degree.
Experience:
· Previous experience in automotive software validation, firmware testing, or related roles.
· Familiarity with Over-the-Air (OTA) update processes in automotive systems is highly desirable.
· Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, or scripting languages commonly used in test automation.
· Understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and diagnostics protocols (e.g., UDS).
· Knowledge of wireless communication technologies, including cellular networks (4G, 5G) and Wi-Fi, as these are commonly used for OTA updates.
· Familiarity with industry standards related to OTA updates, such as OMA DM, AUTOSAR, IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) and other relevant standards in the automotive domain.
· Experience with testing tools and frameworks for software validation, such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, or other similar tools.
· Proficiency in creating and executing automated test scripts to validate software updates efficiently.
· Understanding of automotive ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and in-vehicle networks, as well as how software updates impact these systems.
· Strong debugging skills to identify and troubleshoot issues related to software updates.
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system architects, and quality assurance teams.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues that may arise during the validation process.
· Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, and reports for OTA validation activities.
· Knowledge of automotive safety and cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434) is a plus.
· Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate test results, issues, and recommendations to various stakeholders.
